Smithsonian Institution, Washington, DC More people than ever before are planning their vacations around museums and tourist attractions.  Why?  Well, in our hectic lives it is more important than ever for people to experience and enjoy culture, and trips that enable one to visit art galleries, museums, and historic sites give travelers exactly what they are looking for.  Furthermore, many of these cultural and historic attractions offer a wealth of educational opportunities for families with home-schooled children.

As this trend becomes more popular, some communities have become places sought out for their arts.  Because of the increased tourism, these communities are often able to revitalize their downtowns and inject new life into arts-related development.  The resulting cultural diversity is sometimes quite surprising, especially in places where it was formerly lacking.

Because of these cultural developments, travelers who want to build their itineraries around arts festivals, concerts, or exploring interesting art venues have plenty of areas and neighborhoods to choose from.  In fact, travelers who really enjoy these types of attractions could pick a new community to visit every year and never run out of places to go!

While certain communities have creativity in common, they will all give the traveler a different experience.  So someone wishing to visit a small, homey arts community surrounded by natural beauty might choose to visit Brattleboro, Vermont, while another tourist hoping to see as much sculpture as possible might choose to visit a place like Loveland, Colorado.  Some areas, like Laguna Beach, California, may be chosen for their sheer number of galleries and arts festivals, while equally good choices may be made based upon an area's specific but special offerings.

If you are a cultural traveler, then this website is for you.  Feel free to browse and discover the museums and tourist attractions you want to visit before you book your trip.
